The Jianshan Line (Route 0767; internal service code “32” used by Penghu County’s Public Bus and Ferry Management Office) is a clockwise large-loop circular bus departing from Magong Terminal Station and circling the eastern half of Huxi Township, forming a “Magong → Jianshan → Magong” loop. The full clockwise circuit covers 81 stops, passing Huimin Hospital, Magong Senior High School, the Cultural Center, the District Court, the Penghu Visitor Center, the Cai Tinglan Jinshi Residence, Xingren, Aimen Beach, Penghu Airport, Lintou Park, Jianshan Power Plant, Jianshan, Longmen Fishing Harbor, Guoye, Nanliao, Huxi, Xixi, Chenggong, and Dongwei before returning to Magong. This route serves daily commuters, airport passengers, and independent travelers exploring eastern Huxi.
Route Overview
The defining feature of Route 0767 is that it links almost all villages and attractions in the eastern half of Huxi Township in a single loop. Compared to the Longmen Line (Route 0774), which also circles Huxi, the Jianshan Line continues further north from Longmen to the northern-loop villages of Guoye, Nanliao, Huxi, Xixi, and Chenggong, then turns south along the coast through Dongwei and back to Magong — completing a full circuit.
Key highlights are concentrated in the eastern half: Aimen Beach and Lintou Park are popular summer destinations for swimming and camping; Jianshan and Longmen Lizhengjiao are known for their east-coast sunrises, and Taipower’s Jianshan Power Plant is located nearby; Guoye in the north has a sunrise observation tower — a well-known sunrise photography spot in Penghu — a 5-minute walk from the bus stop; Nanliao preserves a dense cluster of traditional coral-stone old houses and stone-walled gardens, and was consecutively named a Green Destinations Top 100 in 2017 and 2018, with the award presented at ITB Berlin.
From April to September, select trips extend to the “Longmen Waiting Room (April–September only)” stop, allowing passengers to connect at Longmen Jianshan Pier to South Sea ferry services for Qimei and Wang-an.
Stop-by-Stop Highlights
Magong City Section (Stops 1–12: Magong Terminal → Zhongzheng Xincheng) Starting from Magong Terminal Station, the bus passes Huimin Hospital, Beichen Market, Yangming Stop, the Cultural Center, Magong Senior High School, the District Court, and the National Health Insurance Office, then passes through the Siwen and Shiquan village communities before reaching Zhongzheng Xincheng. This section is the main commuting corridor for Huxi residents accessing medical care and schools, and the most direct stretch for reaching Magong’s government offices.
Xingren–Airport–Aimen Section (Stops 13–25: Cai Tinglan Jinshi Residence → Lintou Park) After leaving the city center, the bus heads south to the Penghu Visitor Center and the Cai Tinglan Jinshi Residence, then continues toward Aimen after passing through Xingren village. Stop 22, Penghu Airport, is a key boarding and alighting point for travelers; Stop 23, Aimen Beach, is steps from the beach in summer; Stop 25, Lintou Park, is a spacious seaside park with casuarina windbreaks and sandy areas, well-suited for cycling.
Jianshan–Longmen Section (Stops 26–42: Lintou → Longmen Loop) The bus heads east toward Jianshan. Stop 30 is Taipower’s Jianshan Power Plant; Stop 32, Jianshan Stop, is a popular sunrise photography location on the east coast. From Stop 33, Longmen Elementary School, the bus enters Longmen village; Stop 34 is the Longmen terminal (the circular turnaround point); Stop 37, Longmen Fishing Harbor, is the main pier for South Sea island ferry services. From April to September, passengers can alight at the nearby Longmen Lizhengjiao stop and walk to Jianshan Pier to board ferries.
Northern Loop Villages (Stops 43–67: Guoye → Chenggong → Dongwei) After leaving Longmen, the bus heads north through the village stretch on the east coast. Stops 43–46 cover Guoye; the sunrise observation tower is about a 5-minute walk from the Guoye stop. Stops 47–49, Nanliao, retain a dense cluster of traditional coral-stone village buildings. Stops 50–53 are near the Huxi Township Office and Farmers’ Association. Stops 56–61 enter Xixi and Chenggong; Chenggong is known for its wave-cut platforms and traditional fishing village character. After Stops 65–66, Dongwei, the bus turns west, returning to the city via the livestock market, Taipower offices, and Magong Senior High School.
Attraction Highlights
Magong Old Street Cluster Alighting at Magong Terminal, a 5–10 minute walk reaches Magong Tianhou Temple, the Four-Eyed Well, and Central Old Street — the most historically concentrated walking area in Penghu. The Tianhou Temple is the oldest Mazu temple in Taiwan; the Four-Eyed Well was dug during the Ming dynasty; Central Old Street retains its stone-paved layout from the Dutch colonial and Ming-Qing periods. Visiting all three takes about 1–1.5 hours.
Aimen Beach Alight at Stop 23 (Aimen Beach Stop) for direct beach access. The water is clear in summer, making it one of the few beaches on Penghu’s main island reachable on foot. Aimen Sunshine Beach operators offer SUP, transparent kayaks, body boards and inner-tube rentals during peak season; for snorkeling gear specifically, book in advance with a Magong-based or Aimen operator rather than relying on walk-up rental at the roundabout.
Guoye Sunrise Viewing To catch the east-coast sunrise, alight at Guoye Stop (Stop 45) and follow the path approximately 5 minutes to the observation tower. As no early-morning trip reaches Guoye, it is recommended to stay overnight at a guesthouse near Huxi or Guoye, walk to the viewpoint before dawn, and then take the 6:00 AM counter-clockwise Service 32K back to Magong.
