#135865 — Bus hub stop

Tongliang banyan Terminu stop

Tongliang Banyan Stop is a transit hub on the northern Penghu route connecting to Magong, located in Tongliang Village, Baisha Township, near the famous century-old Tongliang banyan tree. Three bus routes serve this stop: Route 0758 (daytime service toward Wai-an), Route 0762 (Magong–Tongliang round trips), and Route 0798 (an evening cross-district service). The stop is the main transit point for visitors heading to the ancient banyan area and exploring the northern Baisha loop, and an important commuting hub for local residents.

Location

The stop is in Tongliang Village, Baisha Township, Penghu, approximately 100 metres on foot from the entrance to the Tongliang Banyan area. The roadside shelter offers minimal shade; in summer, strong sun can make waiting uncomfortable—arriving early with sun protection is advisable. The surrounding area is a mix of residential housing and farmland. For food and supplies, try the small shop inside the attraction or Magong city center. From this stop, heading east leads to Wai-an Fishing Port; heading west connects to northern Baisha inland attractions (the Tongliang Banyan, Xiaomen Geology Park, and others), all accessible via Route 0758.

Travel Tips

Uneven service frequency — Although Tongliang Banyan Stop is not as busy as the Magong hub, multiple trips run throughout the day. Routes 0758 and 0762 each have several daytime departures, with headways of roughly 1.5–2 hours during peak hours and potentially longer waits off-peak. In the evening, only Route 0798 operates (departing at 8:30 PM, returning at 9:50 PM). Check the online timetable or real-time app before you travel to avoid missing the bus.

Seasonal and weather effects: Penghu’s northeast monsoon is strong in winter, and services can run 10–15 minutes late; during the peak summer tourist season, buses fill quickly—arriving 15 minutes early is recommended. If you plan to visit northern Baisha attractions (Xiaomen Geology Park, Shili Beach, etc.), Route 0758 links these sites, but take care to match bus timings for connections. At night, confirm the last departure—especially on Route 0798—to avoid being stranded in the village overnight. Refer to the live arrivals on this page for the current schedule, or call the Penghu County Public Bus and Ferry Management Office at 06-9213822 to confirm the latest times.
