Dachengbei Extension Stop is a shared transit point for four bus routes serving Penghu’s northern loop area, located within the settlement of Dachengbei Village, Huxi Township. From here, passengers can board services toward Taiwu, Qingluo, Jianshan, or Longmen. Riders are mostly local residents from the Dacheng and Guidan areas, travelers transferring toward Shanshui, or visitors heading to sights further north. While smaller in scale than Magong Bus Terminal, this stop plays a key role linking Magong with the villages of the northern loop.
Location
The stop sits along the main road through Dachengbei Village. The shelter is simple but clearly marked with all four route numbers. The surroundings are mainly farmhouses and residential buildings. A 5-minute walk north leads to a coastal open area with an unobstructed view of the main Penghu island and nearby smaller islets to the south. Walking south takes about 8–10 minutes to reach Magong’s main road. The Taiwu Mountain trailhead is about 20 minutes north on foot, making this a useful transfer point for hikers and morning walkers.
Practical Tips
All four routes share the same shelter. Before boarding, confirm your route by checking the number displayed on the bus — 0763 / 0767 / 0768 / 0774 — since each follows a different path through the surrounding villages even though all connect to Magong Terminal. Route 0768 goes directly to Qingluo; 0763 heads to Taiwu; 0767 loops through Jianshan; 0774 passes through Longmen. Last-bus times differ significantly: 0763 around 11:10 PM, 0768 around 5:40 PM, 0767 around 9:15 PM, and 0774 around 9:40 PM. Strong northeast monsoon winds in winter can cause delays or short-notice schedule changes on outer-area routes — if the weather is poor, check the latest departure status before heading to the stop.
