Haitian Temple is a religious landmark in Dongwei, Magong, on Penghu’s northern loop bus corridor. It acts as an important interchange for travelers heading to the northern coastal villages of Qingluo, Longmen, and Taiwu. Four routes stop here: the Beiliao Line (0759), Taiwu Line (0763), Qingluo Line (0768), and Longmen Loop Line (0774). Whether you are visiting as a worshipper or exploring Penghu’s northern coastline, this stop is where connections to onward destinations are made. The area surrounding the temple is a mix of farmland and fishing villages typical of rural Penghu.
Location
Haitian Temple is located in Dongwei, Magong, Penghu County. The bus shelter stands directly in front of the temple along the main road and is clearly marked with route numbers. From central Magong the stop is roughly 15–20 minutes away by scooter or bus. The surroundings are characteristic of Penghu’s northern agricultural area, with rice paddies and fish ponds nearby. A 12-minute walk south of the stop brings you to Qingluo Bay, a well-known coastal destination. Longmen Village is around 8 minutes to the north on foot, and Taiwu’s coastal settlement is approximately 20 minutes to the west. The temple is one of the more prominent religious sites on the northern loop and serves as a local landmark.
Travel Tips
All four routes share the same shelter, so check the route number carefully before boarding. The Beiliao Line (0759) runs infrequently and mainly during commuting hours; the Taiwu Line (0763) and Qingluo Line (0768) operate primarily in the early morning; and the Longmen Loop Line (0774) runs in the morning. Most departures fall between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM, afternoon services are very limited, and there are typically no evening services. Strong northerly winds in winter may cause minor delays. If you are making a timed connection, aim to arrive at the shelter 10–15 minutes early to avoid missing your bus.
