#135913 — Bus hub stop

Zhongtun North

Zhongtun Yongan Temple stop is a transit hub on the northern section of Penghu’s west ring route, connecting Magong city centre to Xiyu and Tongliang via three lines: 0758 (Shagang), 0762 (Tongliang), and 0798 (Night Bus). The stop sits in front of Yongan Temple, surrounded by residential houses and farmland typical of the Zhongtun area. It is a key transfer point for reaching Zhongtun village, Tongliang township, and Waian on Xiyu. Commuters, returning residents, and visitors heading to northern ring attractions all pass through here. With relatively consistent headways, this stop is a practical connection point when planning journeys northwest of Magong.

Location

The stop sits directly in front of Yongan Temple, a distinctive landmark with a traditional red-tiled roof that is easy to spot. From the bus stop you can see broad farmland across the Zhongtun area and the coastline in the distance. The famous Tongliang Great Banyan Tree — one of the oldest banyan trees in Penghu and a popular shaded rest spot in summer — is a 5–8 minute walk away. A 15–20 minute walk connects you to other northern ring attractions and small temples nearby. From central Magong, Route 0762 (Tongliang Line) takes about 10–15 minutes to reach this stop; Route 0758 (Shagang Line) coming from Waian on Xiyu takes about 20–25 minutes. The surrounding area is typical Penghu countryside — small villages and farmland — with the temple serving as both a spiritual and geographical landmark for the community.

Boarding Tips

All three routes share the same boarding point, so check the route number (0758 / 0762 / 0798) before boarding to avoid taking the wrong direction. First departures from Magong: Route 0762 at 06:35 and Route 0758 at 06:55 (TDX confirmed). Travel time from central Magong to this stop is approximately 10–15 minutes on Route 0762 and 20–25 minutes on Route 0758. Routes 0758 and 0762 run daily with headways of roughly 60–90 minutes; the last departure is typically between 9:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Route 0798 operates evenings only (approximately 8:30–9:50 PM) with fewer departures — check the timetable in advance if you plan to use it. During winter, strong northeast monsoon winds can cause delays of 5–10 minutes on services toward Xiyu and Tongliang. Off-peak services are infrequent; check the live arrivals section on this page or the Penghu bus app before setting out. The last bus is usually around 10:00 PM — arrive at least 15 minutes early.
