Anzhai stop sits on the ring road in Xiyu Township, Penghu, where four bus routes converge. Visitors from Magong and local commuters pass through here en route to Wai-an Village, Tongliang, or further points along the northern Xiyu loop. Though modest in scale, Anzhai is a key node linking Magong to the villages and fishing harbors of Xiyu — and often the first stop for travelers making a day trip to Xiyu’s fishing harbors or the Tongliang Banyan.
Location
Anzhai lies on the Xiyu ring road between Tongliang and Wai-an, with a simple shelter at the stop. The Tongliang Banyan — Penghu’s famous 300-year-old banyan — is about a 10–15 minute walk. Continue another 15–20 minutes toward Wai-an to reach Wai-an Fishing Port, where swordfish are unloaded during fishing season. Xiyu Lighthouse and the Bagua Mountain viewpoint are both within a 10–15 minute drive. During winter, northeast monsoon winds are strong in this area; bring a jacket when waiting at the stop.
Tips for Riders
Anzhai is a small stop with minimal facilities — have exact change ready and keep luggage manageable. Morning services mostly depart between 6:35 and 7:20 AM; midday frequency is lower; afternoon services cluster from around 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM; and the evening Route 0798 departs at 8:30 PM with the last return trip at 9:50 PM. During the winter northeast monsoon season, services toward Wai-an and Tongliang may run 10–20 minutes behind schedule.
