The Qitou Aquarium bus stop is a transit point in the Tongliang area of Siyu Township, Penghu, and the main stop for visiting the National Penghu University of Science and Technology Aquarium. Three routes call here daily — Route 0762 is the primary Magong–Tongliang service, some Route 0758 trips call here, and Route 0798 is an evening cross-island service linking Magong with the western islands. Local residents, school groups, and visitors from further afield all use this stop as a starting point for the aquarium and the surrounding Tongliang sights.
Location
The bus shelter sits near the aquarium entrance and is clearly signed. The Tongliang Giant Banyan Tree is a 10-minute walk away — the oldest banyan in Penghu County, over 300 years old, with wide-spreading branches that have made it a local landmark. Wai-an Fishing Village is about 15 minutes on foot, retaining traditional stone fish traps and harbor scenery that draws photographers. The surrounding area is rural with few commercial facilities; most visitors come primarily to see the sights. The landscape changes with the seasons, and on clear days there are views across toward the Taiwan mainland.
Travel Tips
Route 0762 is the most frequently used at this stop, with 6–8 trips on weekdays and 3–4 on holidays. Routes 0758 and 0798 run infrequently; check the live timetable on this page before traveling. Most last buses depart between 7:00 PM and 9:50 PM, so plan your return to Magong accordingly. The northeast monsoon in winter can occasionally cause delays on local routes; checking live arrivals before setting out is advisable. There is no indoor waiting area at this stop — if you have a long wait, consider visiting the aquarium or walking to the Tongliang Banyan Tree.
