Xujia North is a bus hub on the coast of Xiyu Township, Penghu, where 4 routes converge — the Shagang Line and Night Line heading to Wai-an, the Tongliang Line to Tongliang, and the Shagang Circular Line running through the urban area. Travelers heading from Magong to the outer ring of Xiyu to watch the sunset, visit historic sites, or enjoy coastal scenery often transfer here; local residents also rely on this stop for their daily commute to Magong.
Location
Xujia North Stop sits on the Xiyu coastline between Tongliang and Wai-an, an important point on Xiyu’s coastal ring road. The shelter is modest with an open sea view. A 5-minute walk leads to the Tongliang Banyan — a 300-year-old banyan tree with sprawling roots and generous shade, a well-known historic site popular with visitors. A 15-minute walk along the coast reaches Wai-an Lighthouse and the surrounding fishing village, with scenic views at sunset. Sea winds can be strong; bring a hat and water before heading out to explore.
Riding Tips
The 4 routes at Xujia North have different schedules and destinations — always check the route number and departure time on the stop sign before boarding. Routes 0758 and 0762 run throughout the day toward the outer ring of Xiyu; 0766 is the circular line running throughout the day; 0798 is the night line, departing Magong at 20:30 and returning from Waian at 21:50. In winter, the northeast monsoon can make waiting at this exposed coastal stop uncomfortable even with the simple shelter in place. If you need to wait more than 10 minutes, consider stepping into a nearby guesthouse or convenience store to get out of the wind.
