Penghu Airport is the only air gateway in Penghu County, located in Aimen Village, Huxi Township. Whether arriving by air or heading back to Taiwan, most visitors and returning residents catch a bus here to continue into the city. Six bus routes stop at the airport, including the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Penghu Airport Express and several loop lines serving Magong and the surrounding townships — making this the key interchange between air and road transport. Departures are less frequent than in the city center, but schedules are coordinated with regular flight times to provide seamless connections.
On-Site Location
The bus stop is on the platform outside the airport terminal, with a clearly marked shelter. The Aimen Village area offers open rural scenery typical of northwestern Penghu, with farmland, sugarcane fields, and coastal views in the vicinity. A short walk into the village leads to convenience stores and small eateries; the terminal itself also has a restaurant, convenience store, and currency exchange. If you are catching an early morning or late evening flight, allow enough time to connect with a bus — gaps between afternoon and evening departures can be considerable, so check the schedule in advance.
Travel Tips
Bus departures are timed to coincide with flights: early morning services run from around 06:00–07:00, and evening services operate from approximately 16:00–20:00, with the last bus at 20:40. If you take Taiwan Tourist Shuttle route 0167, you can transfer directly to other city routes at Magong Main Station. If you choose one of the loop lines — 0763 Southern Loop, 0765 Wukan Loop, 0767 Jianshan Loop, 0768 Fengguei Line, or 0774 Longmen Loop — allow more time before reaching the city center, as these routes circle back via the townships. In winter, the northeast monsoon can cause occasional delays; heavy rain or reduced visibility may also affect flights, so check both the bus schedule and the weather forecast before departing.
